Vitamin C, in particular, should be fresh because it is easily oxidized. If this has occurred, the vitamin C serum will turn yellow gold … well, take a close look at the cotton ball below. Looks like an egg, doesn’t it? This means I was using that stuff to improve my face – and I was unwittingly harming it.

Notice the bright yellow/gold color. This means that stuff has oxidized. Therefore, instead of stopping oxidation as Dr. Perricone mentioned, it was the increasing the oxidation of my skin and damaging my cells!
