Perhaps you've heard of the 5 Tibetan Rites? Martin Sheen certainly has and he uses them like millions of other people. The book itself was written decades ago by a man named Peter Kelder. It was an underground classic for a long time but has recently been discovered by mainstream America. Fortunately.
The story is fascinating. In 1930 the author first met a retired officer in the British army known as Colonel Bradford (this might have been a pen name?) Kelder described the former officer as being stooped, frail, needing a cane - as was often the case with a man in his late 60s. The colonel had been stationed in India and as he and Kelder became friends, he mentioned a fascinating story that he had heard repeatedly when stationed on that continent.
Supposedly, in a monastery in Tibet, the monks had discovered the famous 'fountain of youth'. Old men visited this place where “and mysteriously regained health and strength, vigor and virility shortly after entering a certain monastery; but where this particular place was none seemed exactly to know.”
The Colonel decided to track down this mysterious place and disappeared from the life of Kelder for four years. But finally he reappeared and the two men agreed on a meeting. When the Colonel knocked on Kelder's door, Kelder was disappointed because instead of his friend was a youthful and glowing man.
In fact, the 'young' man was a transformed Colonel Bradford: his hair had gone from white to a shining brown; he no longer had wrinkles but instead his complexion was smooth and fresh; he no longer stooped and used a cane but instead was energetic, strong, and virile! When people were queried as to his age, the average guess was 38 - but in fact, he was72.
The colonel claimed to have been transformed by the 5 Tibetan Rites that he used in theTibetan monastery in the Himalayan Mountains. Fascinating story!
