Any green tea review must begin by noting that green tea is a truly cool product! The properties of green tea are myriad – or we should say that the beneficial properties of green tea are outstanding. In fact, we don’t have anything negative to say about green tea unless we drink too much of the caffeinated kind and get a ‘buzz’.
First of all, it’s very popular as a weight loss substance. That’s because green tea has a thermogenic effect, meaning that it stimulates our body to burn more fat.
But unlike some more controversial substances, like echinacea, green tea has exhibited no side effects whatsoever. Some substances can cause the heart rate to increase unnaturally which obviously is A Bad Thing. {Note: we’re not convinced that echinacea is at all dangerous, but that’s a story for another day}.
The power of green tea comes from a substance in the tea called a catechin which is a natural and potent antioxidant, which means that green tea fights free radicals and therefore improves our immune system. And of course we all know that the stronger our immune system, the more resistant we are to disease and aging.
At the beginning of this green tea review we declared that the properties of green tea are overwhelmingly positive and this is obviously true. It’s incredible that we can drink a cup of a delicious tea and thereby strengthen our immune system, combat aging and lose weight. Definitely my kind of beverage!
