If you love Little Red Riding Hood the way most of us love fairy tales from our childhood, you will be fascinated by this triptych wall art. And what is “triptych” you may wonder. It’s a three panel piece of art instead of a solid one piece, although options are definitely available for more traditional canvases, too.
Of course you know the Little Red Riding Hood story and the wolf is definitely the Bad Guy. Although, I’ve always wondered why a very distinctive wolf face could be mistaken for a human grandmother – but hey, it’s a fairy tale. Either that or Red was definitely on something? I’m kidding of course, but my point is that I really love the wolf in this great piece of wall art. Look at his long, long snout and he definitely looks sinister hiding behind the tree.
Another interesting feature of this piece is that there are so few colors. There are a few shades of gray and some red and the red is more noticeable because of the deliberately understated background.
We’ve all been raised on the Disney versions of fairy tales but the original stories weren’t written to entertain children. They were morality tales for adults and were often terrible stories with dreadful endings. Little Red Riding Hood was no exception but this piece of triptych wall art is beautiful, haunting and striking. It might be perfect for a kid’s room – or yours.
