If the Fountain Of Youth – a mythical water source that will reverse aging (or so the legends go) – truly existed, stumbling over it would instantly make you the most popular person on our incredibly gorgeous blue and green planet. Actually, remaining healthy – and even looking great, no matter your age – isn't all that difficult. In our culture, we focus on outward remedies – plastic surgery, botox injections, anti-aging creams and yoga workouts but the best ways to stop aging aren't external.
Yes, the years on the calendar pass on – but so what? It's possible to remain strong spiritually, mentally, emotionally – and physically, even in the biological sense. It's all about our paradigms of aging and existence.
The following are some ways to look younger and are antiaging health remedies that will keep you enjoying life for as long as you live.
1. Stop Aging By Pursuing New Interests: Learning To Cartoon
Is your life stale? Is your routine in a rut? There's a famous quote about how a rut is only a shallow grave, which is absolutely true. Take a risk and try something NEW. Right now I am using teaching myself to cartoon using a printed course, and I just ordered some CDs to learn Spanish.
I can vividly remember the reaction of my ex-husband when I completed a pottery course … for many years of my life I wanted to learn how to use a 'wheel' and make pottery to be decorated and fired in a kiln. I took a six weeks' class and discovered that I detested the whole thing! My fingernails were continuously dirty and kneading clay is really hard work. When I completed the class I told my then-husband that I didn't like the art of pottery at all and he replied, "Well, that was a waste." But it wasn't a waste at all! My fantasy about filling my home with pottery-by-Sydney ended and I could move on to new interests without regretting that I had missed this long-time interest. New interests make us feel alive and exhilarated.
2. Best Antiaging Advice: Move, Move, Move Your Bod!
Some of the best antiaging advice you will ever receive is to get out in the fresh air and move, move, move. The human body is meant to be active, not to slouch on a couch watching TV. Do you like sports? Do you like to walk briskly on a beautiful (or not-so-beautiful) day like I do? Do you enjoy playing with your kids? Is the gym 'your thing'? What about a trampoline or yoga class? Physical exercise will give you a glow that is attractive to everyone.
In addition, you are breathing out toxins and increasing the energy in your body. Physical activity even makes your face and skin look better because the increase circulation brings blood to the surface and removes gunk from your pores. It's a win any way you look at it.
3. Why I Chose Antiaging Health Rather Than My Marriage
I recently dropped off a team sport that I enjoyed very much. The sport, that is – the people, not so much. Why? Because most of them spent endless hours talking about their physical ailments! What a downer. Actually, most of the people I associate with are younger than I am. Too many people are obsessed with what's wrong in their lives. You undoubtedly know many of these folks. Yes, it's tough if they're family members (or even your spouse or Significant Other?) But my marriage broke up primarily because my husband was a continuous Bad Mood. It's not always easy because sometimes it's tough to make new choices, but life needs to be fun and interesting. So seek out friends who can help you to laugh and have a good time. Drop the others, as best you can. And if there are sour pusses you can't get away from, learn how to not be "infected" – literally, infected – by their misery. It's theirs and doesn't belong to you. One of my favorite quotes is by Gandhi:
No one can make me feel bad without my permission.
4. Be An Optimist & Reverse Aging
Do you know the single biggest source of wrinkles? If you answered 'age', you're wrong – fortunately. Actually the single biggest source of wrinkles is stress. This is why optimism will reverse aging and its appearance, as well. Many people have argued this point with me, insisting that I'm not seeing life as it really is by being a dyed-in-the-wool optimist. But that simply isn't true. Optimism isn't about ignoring the realities of life. It's about expecting the best and not worrying about what we can't control. Optimism will create a glow and a vibrancy this makes us attractive at ANY age. Do what you can do to make your life events go the way you want them to go – and forget about the rest. Worrying accomplishes nothing except to age you more quickly than might have happened otherwise. The greatest treasure in life is peace of mind and it's available to anyone. Yes, anyone. You, too.
These simple habits will help you to look younger, but much more importantly, they will help you to literally stop aging and even reverse aging. Besides, you'll enjoy the journey so much more that your age won't be nearly as important as you might have thought it was.

This is soooo beautiful. I myself is married to a man who find something wrong in everything. He appears to be happy only when everything is the way he wants it. At first i was sooo miserable until i realize i was loosing my youthful looks and i my family kept saying why am i allowing my marriage to change the beautiful person i was, one of laughter and a great sense of humor. This has helped me to refocus and of a truth his misery is his, not mine. thank you so much and exercise is just awesome!!

Juliet, you must have been married to my ex! :-) He was like yours – always unhappy and very controlling. I made myself miserable, too, but finally came to my senses. I love that comment: “No one can make me (miserable/unhappy/sad/any negative feeling) without my permission.” Congratulations on your escape and your sanity, beautiful person that you are!
