Coffee scrubs are very popular right now, and some of them have hefty prices. But it’s simple to make your own coffee scrub in only a few minutes and using just a few simple ingredients. Here are four really powerful reasons to make your own.
1. Buying A Coffee Body Scrub Ain’t Cheap, Folks!
Check out these prices. $29.95? Are you kidding me?
2. Is It Truly A “Natural” Coffee Body Scrub?
Often there’s no way to knowing what’s actually in that coffee face scrub – or body scrub. It’s useful for the entire body. Manufacturers are skilled at ‘obfuscating’ (love that word! :-) their ingredients to make their products seem healthier than they really are. If YOU are in charge, you know what’s in your scrub, especially if you understand your ingredients.
3. Making A DIY Coffee Scrub Is Simple & Quick
All you need are some spoons and a container to whip up this beauty. Here’s what you need:
* 1/4 cup grapeseed or coconut oil – I’ve used both and either works beautifully
* 1/3 cup brown sugar
* 3 Tablespoons of coffee
* Scent (optional)
4. You Can Choose Your Scent
Coffee isn’t a delicate scent so lavender, for instance, doesn’t do it for me. In this case I used pumpkin spice seasoning but I’ve used orange before and it’s good. Choose something that smells good to you.
NOTE: be sure to store your diy coffee scrub in plastic, not glass, since you will most likely be using it in the shower, or at least in the bathroom. Broken glass in the shower definitely isn’t cool.
Instead of buying your coffee scrubs, experiment with this coffee scrub recipe until it’s the way you want it. It’s great for skin and it’s especially useful on elbows, which tend to get rough. Use it once a week and enjoy. Let us know if you like it or if you have any suggestions for improvements.
