Who on this planet doesn’t love Gandalf, the gray, then white, wizard, from The Lord of the Rings? We think this cross stitch pattern perfectly captures his likeness and we’re stitching it ourselves.
One summer, my mom and brother came to visit me from out of town. During their visit, my brother mentioned The Hobbit and I bought it. The morning they left, I casually picked up the book and started reading. I was still in my pyjamas and I finished the book that afternoon, got dressed and went to the bookstore and bought all three Lord of the Rings volumes. I went home, put my pyjamas back on and read until the wee hours of the night when I couldn’t stay awake any longer. As soon as I woke up, I continued reading until I finished the entire series. Wow, that was a wonderful adventure. The thing is that the book is ALWAYS better than the movie. But not this time. I will always be grateful to Tolkien for writing this amazing series but I love, love the movies and this absolutely perfect Gandalf!
There is a scene in the LotR when the four hobbits are hiding by the side of the road and one of the Nazgul has stopped only a few feet away and is sniffing for them. My heart literally sped up and I became agitated reading the passage. That scene is in the movies, too, only there is a large worm/snake oozing around them and the suspense is overwhelming. And disgusting because of that thing. Ick.
Our Gandalf cross stitch pattern is inexpensive and comes with two kinds of charts. You can read all the details in our store. If you’re a wizard-freak, like me, you will want to have this pattern in your library.
