Hemorrhoids are pure misery! Like many pregnant women, I got the wretched things but fortunately they went away over time. For those who suffer from them on a daily basis, pay close attention to the article below from today's guest author.
Hemorrhoids, or pile, are a condition characterized by painful bowel movements often accompanied by a burning sensation and bleeding. This is often a very painful condition where the internal anal veins become stretched and varicose, and eventually get ruptured, leading to the painful symptoms often accompanied by bleeding.
The piles can be internal or external, with the external ones being felt and seen as they form painful soft bluish bumps on the anarectal area. The internal hemroids on the other hand are always painless, but will often be accompanied by bleeding.
Hemroids are caused by poor food choices that lead to constipation, exerting too much pressure during bowel movement, obesity, excessive weight as is the case with pregnancy, ulcerative colitis can also lead to this condition, and irregular toilet habits to mention but a few. Following are time tested and proven natural cures for piles and hemorrhoids.
1. Butcher's broom
This is a very common natural piles cure that contains an active ingredient known as Tuscogen. This is arguably the best natural remedy for piles, as it helps facilitate easy bowel movements and provides a soothing effect on the affected areas. The active ingredient helps constrict the stretched out veins, thus reducing inflammation. This treatment can be taken as an herbal tea or as a pill. It can also be applied as a compress for instant relief from pain and discomfort.
2. Horse Chestnut
The horse Chestnut is another effective remedy that works more or less like the Butcher's Broom, only that it contains Aescin in place of Tuscogen. Be advised though that some people can react negatively to Horse Chestnut, hence you should confirm if you do react before using it. This remedy helps fortifies blood vessels, improves blood circulation, and reduce inflammation and swelling.
3. Bioflavonoid
These are natural plant compounds that help reduce inflammation and fortify your blood vessels. They also help reduce pain and itching, especially after a bowel movement. A known potent rich source of bioflavonoids is citrus fruits.
4. Fiber
Increasing your fiber intake in your diet is yet another very effective natural cure for piles and hemorrhoids. Fiber softens your stool texture to ensure it is passed out easily. This way, you will avoid straining during bowel movement and will equally avoid constipation, which are the two main culprits behind the formation of hemorrhoids. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are potent sources of fiber.
5. Sitz Bath
A sitz bath has been proven an effective remedy for piles and hemorrhoids. Soaking in a tub of warm water for up to 15 minutes thrice a day can give you the much needed relief from the pain and discomfort associated with piles and hemroids. After that, you can apply something like aloe Vera gel on the affected area for that soothing and cooling effect and to also help reduce pain.
While there are many hemroids and piles cure in the market, nothing can beat a natural approach to the condition, luckily, with the most effective natural cures, you wouldn’t need expensive surgical interventions for the condition.
