Denise Austin Diet & Workout

Written by Sydney Johnston 2 Comments

I like Denise Austin! I have several of the Denise Austin’s exercise books [my favorite is Sculpt Your Body with Balls and Bands] and they’re sane and sensible and promote healthy fat loss.

I know that I’m always raving about the healthy ways to lose weight – but what use is it to lose weight at the risk of damaging our bodies?

Beauty is nice – but radiant, glowing health is better.

One of the refreshing truths about Denise Austin is that she was born in 1957 and yet she looks great. I get so tired of the diet ads that show 20 year olds that look like they haven’t eaten in the last year. When we realize that these pictures of the ‘ideal body’ are air-brushed, then we realize we’re being set up to yearn for a look that isn’t obtainable by most of us normal people [“normal” = not actresses/super models whose careers live or die based on their weight.]

Austin has been the Fitness Queen since her 20s and looks fabulous (Oh to have Denise Austin abs!). She will teach us not only about fat loss programs, but also how to have super longevity and feel great.

Denise Austin Exercise & Diet Plan

Healthy fat loss requires a combination of exercise and sane eating.
Fitness experts say that getting healthy and maintaining a healthy weight is a combination of diet and exercise. Her program includes:

Food
Exercise
Motivational tools

Without the currect ‘fuel’ to keep our physical engines operating at peak efficiency, the pounds will pile on. But if we eat correctly, and get in good shape with aerobic exercise while we build muscle, we will become fat-burning ‘machines’ – exactly what we want.

There are two other huge benefits of regular exercise – one everybody knows and another that we don’t really think of that often.

The first is that our health will improve. Like it or not, the human body was meant to move. The oldest humanoid discovered (according to the History channel, that is :-) is five million years old. In all those years our ancestors had to move, or else they would become lunch for a bigger, swifter, fiercer predator. It’s only been in the last 50 years or so that we humans have become sedentary. Clearly, for optimal health the human body needs to move, run, play, stretch and build muscle.

And although we don’t consider it as often, physical activity makes us feel better. Lots better. It’s a potent source of bliss. I know this Truth from personal experience because I’ve definitely had my times of inactivity. Bottom line: when I exercise I feel marvelous and wonderful .. when I don’t, I feel sluggish, tired and ‘old’.

Denise Austin’s Healthy Food Plans

If you’re interested in her online weight loss program you need to first evaluate your current condition. At no cost, you will record your measurements and answer some questions, which include how much you would like to weigh, and you will then receive a personal profile. This analysis will give you a daily calorie count based on your current size and goals.

You then choose whether or not you want to join Denise’s program which currently costs $20/month, although that price can change at any time, of course. Inside the member site you will have access to hundreds of tools, videos, recipes and meal plans.

There are options that allow you to choose foods that you like (within reason, of course :-) I haven’t used her service, but I believe she has a plan to fit vegetarians/vegans like me, although I can’t personally testify to that. This feature is important because if we’re ‘forced’ to eat foods we hate, our chances of success are greatly diminished. Any plan that would require me to eat meat or animal products is a certain failure for me since I detest those foods and don’t feel good when I eat them. Any weight loss diet menu must be accommodating to different tastes and bodies or it is certain to fail.

The Denise Austin Exercise Plan

This is, of course, where she shines and the site claims to offer a personalized exercise plan. She has made 60+ workout videos and so has vast resources in this area. If you’re a novice at exercise – or a skilled and determined gymnast (although I’ve never seen an overweight gymnast!), there will be something for you. Personally, if I hate exercise, I know I won’t do it faithfully, so it has to be something I enjoy and you are undoubtedly the same.

Motivation And Sticking To It

There are a plethora of tools on the Austin’s site that are for helping you stay with the program and this is excellent. We are all in different places in our lives and supposedly there are goodies and tips for anybody and everybody, regardless of their life situation.

Denise Austin Plan: A

The Denise Austin exercise and diet plan seems to be one of the healthy ways to lose weight. Expectations aren’t unreasonably high and its made clear that this isn’t an overnight sensation like the silly Hollywood diet. I have no personal experience with this – but I have a couple of her exercise books and can testify that they’re excellent and not damaging to the body. Actually some of them are actually fun! Imagine that. :-)

Yeah, I would just like to say that I had read that Denise Austin was quoted in the Washington City Paper saying she was upset over lewd comments made about past clips on YouTube. According to the Washington DC weekly newspaper, Denise giggled when someone asked if she was aware that she’s become the object of so much perversion and said, “Now I’m worried!” She also said that she was totally unaware of it (yeah right!). I wonder if she has ever read any of the comments and giggled. Look up “Denise Austin Gets Indecent Exposure” to read the article. http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/1275/stretch-comedy

I put a plugin on my computer and it changes all Youtube comments to gibberish – like that much better. :-) Ignore those idiots, Denise.
