Losing weight is no easy task, often requiring deep changes to the way that we eat and live, only to produce a struggle with the scales that seems will never end. From missing out on our favorite foods to working up the motivation needed to complete our daily exercise regimens, embracing a new, healthier lifestyle in the name of dropping excess pounds is both admirable and difficult, requiring that we turn to every source of inspiration available to keep us on track.
Like so many other things in life, there’s an app for that – many of them, in fact! Keep track of your vital dieting statistics, get a boost of visual energy for your next workout, or simply converse with others on the same healthy path for inspiration, all on your smartphone; here are three helpful iPhone apps for weight loss:
1. LIVESTRONG.com Calorie Tracker
In a world with more varieties of food than you could ever hope to memorize, staying hip to what your food contains sometimes requires technical assistance, and your iPhone can fill this void nicely when combined with the Calorie Tracker app from well-known health organization LIVESTRONG.com.
This handy app helps you to stay on the right path every minute of every day by tracking your daily calorie intake and exercise routines in order to ensure that you’re burning more than you’re taking in, helping you to set weight goals and doing the math for you in figuring out the best and fastest route to them.
Specifically, this app monitors your daily calorie, fat, carbohydrate, and protein intake, requiring you only to quickly input the items that you eat and doing all of the calculations for you. On top of a huge list of everyday edibles, the connected LIVESTRONG.com database also offers nutritional data on more than 1.3 million food items served at restaurants around the world, making it particularly useful for those who are constantly on the move, grabbing meals when and where they can and trying to juggle a strict diet at the same time.
2. Lose It!
Staying motivated to lose weight relies heavily on paying close attention to the particulars of your new habits in order to get the most out of them, and the Lose It! app for iPhone can do all of the legwork for you.
Monitoring your intake in a way similar to the LIVESTRONG app detailed above, Lose It! is able to go a step further by integrating your in-app data with an online account that promises to provide a whole array of new functionality, whether you’re focused on an extreme diet or something a little more slow-paced. This included functionality covers creating and sharing recipes, issuing instant reminders when meals are missed, logging your intake of pre-packaged food via a barcode scanner, sharing your activity with friends on Facebook and Twitter (if you choose to), and much more, making this one of the most well-rounded weight loss iPhone apps available today!
3. Fitness Buddy
Losing weight isn’t all about dieting; exercise will have to come into play, as well, and that can be no less difficult to plan and track than the food that you eat. With that point in mind, say hello to Fitness Buddy, the only app your iPhone will ever need to cover every angle of your exercise routine!
This full-featured app focuses on helping you to get motivated by providing details on more than 1,700 different exercises, all alongside more than 1,000 HD videos that aim to both teach and inspire. Great review of these apps. I’ve been using Loose It! for about 2 months now. I love how easy it is to use. If you exercise it also has links into RunKeeper to track calories burned when I walk and enters them right into the Loose It! app.

Awesome review.I have seen numerous proposals to weight loss that is focused around numbering calories. This is less demanding said than done unless you have Lose It! It is essentially extraordinary for tallying calories.lose It won’t just help you track calories that you have taken in, yet it can undoubtedly be utilized to weigh calories in foods that you are considering eating/buying.lose It has an astounding library of nutrition for grocery store items and in addition fast food restaurants. Permits you to pick portion sizes and it has been inside 10% correctness when contrasting with nutrition data on boxes that I have checked against.Good day.~Maria Brown.
