The media in the US is very fond of sensationalizing and "catastrophizing" and this is an example of ridiculous press coverage run wild. ‘The End Of The World’ headlines are rampant and there is a political point of view being promoted as well: nuclear power is evil.
So a sane and balanced article is most welcome and I strongly recommend an article from author Jon Barron. He explains:
* Why the Japanese plants are nothing like Chernobyl
* China syndrome – not really
* Why US reactors are extremely unlikely to suffer a meltdown
"So, the bottom line is that a meltdown by itself would be unlikely to pose a danger to the world at large — although it would be severely damaging to the area immediately surrounding the reactor for many, many years to come."
However, as Jon points out, ‘unlikely’ doesn’t mean’ impossible’. So if we should be in the path of extra radiation, there are three areas of vulnerability:
Protecting your thyroid, the most vulnerable organ in your body
Removing as much of the radiation as possible from your body, as quickly as possible
Protecting your DNA from genetic mutation
Jon explains how to provide the needed protection in an efficient and natural manner. This is an important article to read.

It’s important to remember that dozens of power plants were affected by the earthquake and tsunami … and only one of them is the least bit hazardous.
