What is a genius? Einstein is the genius most of us think of when we hear that word, but are we saying is that his human intelligence was greater than ours? Why was Einstein so different from you and me? What do geniuses ‘have’ the rest of us don’t have? How can we increase intelligence – specifically yours and mine?
Even though he wasn’t supposed to, a lab technician saved Einstein’s brain. And guess what? Einstein’s brain wasn’t any bigger than yours or mine! The difference was the connections between his brain cells, the synapses. Einstein’s brain was rich in synaptical connections. What that means is that he USED his brain. Which means that any time we do likewise, we are building our connections as well. To think is to practice brain chemistry.
The brain is made of neurons and those neurons have branches called dendrites. These dendrites look a bit like tree branches and electrical signals flash back and forth between the dendrites in milliseconds. The brain ‘talks’ among its cells through synapses, through electrical activity.
A question: What would it do for your life to have a genius running it? What do you now want that you don’t have. Would you more easily get it if a genius was calling the shots? How do we increase our human intelligence?
