I tried to explain the misery of insomnia to my friends and family, but they just didn’t understand. “Don’t worry about it,” they assured me. “You’ll be fine.” People who sleep properly cannot grasp the horror of living with a sleeping disorder. They don’t realize how insomnia completely affects all aspects of life, from health to physical appearance to overall mental well-being. I had to find sleeping help on my own.
Most people have restless nights on occasion, but many people have sleepless nights on a regular basis. Insomnia–along with the problems that accompany it–will dominate their lives. Over 70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders and wakefulness.
Regrettably, more than 40 percent of insomniacs will end up relying on over the counter medication or prescription drugs to get the sleeping help that they seek. These medications disrupt the natural patterns of the brain and disturb the body’s natural sleeping rhythms. This was not the sleeping help I was searching for.
If You Need Sleeping Help Understand That Drugs Don’t Solve The Causes Of Insomnia
In fact, for most people, taking these drugs is not solving the true problem. These medications do not address the underlying causes that need to be treated to put insomniacs back in control of their lives.
Stress and anxiety, the racing and endless spiral of thoughts, and a restless mind are often the main perpetrators of sleep disorders. Sleeping help can often be achieved when people deal more constructively with their daily pressures and worries. Try dealing with your anxiety and stress first before choosing to take sleeping pills–they should always be a last resort.
You can also seek sleeping help at sleep disorder centers. Usually, these facilities are established in hospitals or universities. First a physician will evaluate the person. Then the center will perform an overnight sleep study on the patient. These studies are normally conducted in sound-proof sleep rooms. The evaluators will measure brain waves, muscle tone, body movements, breathing patterns, and heartbeats. Most sleep disorder centers in the United States are dedicated to providing superior sleeping help to people who suffer from sleep disorders.
There are many suggestions for naturally helping your sleep. Many people find that exercising during the day relieves tension and stress, allowing them to feel more sleepy and relaxed at bedtime.
Eating healthy foods is also a beneficial sleeping help. A nutritious diet will prevent the production of stress hormones and low blood sugar–both of which result in anxiety and therefore disrupt your sleep.
There are also vitamins and minerals that have proved beneficial to insomniacs. Vitamin E helps to relax you and to keep you asleep throughout the night. Taking calcium before bed can be a natural sleep enhancer, because calcium is known for calming the nervous system and inducing deep sleep. Magnesium also calms the brain and nervous system to help induce that restorative sleep that insomniacs want so badly.
Sleep medications are not a healthy or effective way to obtain sleeping help. Users often develop a tolerance and become addicted. Also, the sleep that is induced by medication is not truly the deep sleep that our bodies need, so we will usually feel mentally fuzzy and not fully rested the next day.

Drugs only cures for sometime sleeping problem but real point is drugs destroys sleeping habits completely. I don’t take drugs to make my sleeping problem go away. I just exercise very hard whenever I feel sleeping disorder and exercising hard before bed is really helping me sleeping better every night. Thanks.

You are very wise! Hard exercise is a much better solution to insomnia than sleeping drugs.
