A Toothache Remedy In 12 Hours? Aw, Come On!

Written by Sydney Johnston Leave a Comment

Toothache pain is an occasional occurrence in the lives of most people, in spite of the fact that we try to take care of our teeth. A toothache remedy becomes the most important thing in our lives when a painful toothache has us in our grip so that we focus on nothing but the traumatic anguish in our mouth. Yes, it may be a necessity to go to the dentist – but perhaps not. Sometimes a home remedy for a toothache is more efficient and it's definitely a good idea if you can't see a dentist promptly. If you don't have dental insurance, a home remedy for a toothache is particularly welcome because it is so much cheaper than a dentist's visit. So what are some of these natural toothache remedies?

Toothache Remedy #1: A Raw Garlic Clove

Humans have used garlic as a home remedy for a toothache for centuries. Most folks interested in natural remedies know that garlic has a multitude of uses. But not many know that a raw garlic clove can sometimes stop the pain – permanently! – and eliminates or reduces the likelihood of infection.

Toothache Remedy #2: Pepper (And Salt?)

If the wretched toothache pain is the result of a cavity, a minute bit of pepper placed on the painful area might get rid of suffering. A frequent practice is to blend the pepper with one fourth teaspoon of salt. In addition to affecting toothache, a salt and pepper mixture is good for infected gums and gums that are overly soft. It works well on bad breath, too.

Toothache Remedy #3: An Onion

Many are surprised to learn that the lowly onion can be a huge boon for a toothache. The onion is valuable because of its effect on bacteria. Want relief in minutes? (Ridiculous question, right?) Then try positioning a piece of onion on your aching tooth. Not only can onions be a potent home toothache remedy, this amazing vegetable can PREVENT toothaches in the future because they destroy nasty bacteria that cause cavities.

PREVENTING Toothache Pain

Of course, it's better to prevent a toothache than to cure one. So dependable dental checkups are always wise. It's better to go at least once per year, or even twice a year, if required.

One way to reduce the chance of cavities – and thus pain – is to eliminate sugar in your life. Sugar is a breeding ground for the bacteria that encourage cavities. Brushing your teeth after eating will assist somewhat to eliminate these bacteria – if you absolutely 'have to' eat sugar.

Children should be encouraged to consume grapefruit, lemons and limes – in their natural state (no bottled stuff!). These high-in-vitamin-C substances fight bacteria and thus war against loose teeth, gum disease, cavities and toothache pain. Establishing good habits in childhood sets the stage for life-long dental health.

My Pain-Wracked Neighbor On Labor Day Weekend

Obviously, natural remedies for toothache pain exist. But what if you're right in the middle of a dreadful episode? In that case you perhaps should consider listening to Diane Putman, How To Get Rid Of A Toothache Naturally In Less Than 12 Hours who figured out how to eliminate toothache pain (and avoided the expense of the dentist's office = no small thing!) – and permanently eliminated the pain in less than 12 hours. It's wise to be careful about believing such claims but my neighbor was moaning with a toothache over the Labor Day weekend. Not only was it a holiday weekend but it was after most businesses close on Friday afternoon. She knew only too well that she couldn't even contact a dentist until Monday morning. I guardedly recommended Putnam's book – promising nothing. She dashed across the yard to my house the next morning to tell me that she had followed directions exactly and her toothache was no more! She never did bother with her dentist – who happens to charge $50 just for an office visit.

PS: my zany neighbor went shopping and spent the money she would have given the dentist. She said she "earned" a shopping spree. :-)
