Sometimes we don’t like it but diet and fitness simply ARE a part of the life of a wise person. Promoting your health with diet and fitness brings our bodies into balance. Still, many folks are one sided, in that they eat a healthy diet but are total couch potatoes, whereas others eat a lot of junk but work out a great deal (like my son!) Achieving one side of the diet and fitness coin is definitely better than nothing.
Is it possible to raise your metabolism without exercise? The answer is a qualified ‘yes’. But our results will be much weaker than they will without exercise.
There is much written about how we need exercise to burn off calories, but that really isn’t what it’s about. It takes humongous amounts of exercise just to burn off 250 calories. The benefits are much better than that:

* How to boost your immune system …
* How to melt inches and pounds off your body …
* How to restore razor sharp mental functions …
* How you can improve your bone density (and avoid osteoporosis and debilitating fractures) …

Exercise gets our blood circulation going which is very healthy for our bodies …
Exercise gives us energy …
Exercise makes us feel better so that we are better able to resist junk food …
Inactivity has a direct relationship with ‘deep belly fat’ which often leads to organ damage and diabetes
It seems like a contradiction, but often folks who get a lot of exercise will remain the same weight in pounds – or even gain a bit. That’s because, volume for volume, muscle weighs more than fat. Obviously, it is much more desirable to have muscle on our bodies than fat. Fat is inert while muscle burns calories in our resting state. Thus we can exercise and gain results for hours.
See diet and fitness as twins: neither works as well alone as they do together. Yes, it isn’t always easy to get either habit firmly into your life but your health with diet and fitness will be much superior to the exercise-less, junk food state.
