If you take a resolution to stay hydrated this summer then you will see revolutionary changes happening to your body and beauty. Here, we present you 7 tips to stay hydrated and achieve your beauty and fitness goals effectively.
1. Drinking water early in the morning
According to Ayurveda, the best way to stay hydrated and get rid of toxins and ailments from the body is to drink water stored overnight in a copper vessel in the wee hours of morning. This is said to be the best medicine for many health and beauty problems. In the beginning it may be a pain for you to drink 2 liters of water early in the morning but gradually you will get accustomed to it. Drink as much water as you can early in the morning. It is also recommended that you drink water while seated in a glass. This powerful dose of early morning water will keep you hydrated for long and will ensure smooth functioning of your body parts.
2. Take soups with your meals
Clear vegetable soups are a great way to stay hydrated. The best thing about clear soups is that they are loaded with essential vitamins and minerals and yet they are very low on calories. The combination of water and essential nutrients make clear soups a great choice for staying hydrated. Try to include clear soups with two major meals in your daily diet.
3. Eat fruits as snacks
The basic concept of taking six small meals a day helps in staying hydrated also. If you take fruits as part of your mid morning snack then they can contribute in staying hydrated. Fruits contain high amounts of water and taking fruits like water melon, grapes, musk melon, etc can be particularly refreshing in summers.
4. Consume more and more raw salads
Salads are also a great way to stay hydrated. Vegetables like cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce have high amounts of water and consuming salads as snacks or starters can help you stay fit and hydrated.
5. Sip water between the meals
Contrary to popular belief sipping water in between the meals is good for health. It aids in food digestion and helps us stay hydrated but remember that water needs to be sipped only. Half glass of water sipped through the meal is a good idea.
6. Keep a water bottle at your bed side
Keeping a water bottle at your bed side will help you drink water in the middle of the night when you wake up for visiting the washroom or otherwise. Our internal parts keep working throughout the night and hence drinking water in the middle of the night will help your body parts stay hydrated and healthy.
7. Wear cool and loose clothes during summers
Wearing cool and loose clothes will ensure that you do not lose much of your body water and salts through sweat. Wear light clothes and feel comfortable even during the summery months.
In the beginning you will find it hard to drink so much of water through various sources because your body cells are no more used to absorb high amounts of water and you may feel bloated but gradually the bloating will vanish. After a couple of weeks you may feel persistent dryness of mouth even after consuming large quantities of water but you should not be afraid of it. This is your body's way of showing years of sustained dehydration and abuse it has endured.
This dryness and persistent thirst will also fade away in a week or so and gradually you will realize that it has become much easier to drink large quantities of water. Aim for two liters of water if you don’t do any strenuous work but if you do something strenuous like athletics or sports or any hard work then aim for 4 liters of water a day.
