Your face is the most obvious part of your body, and where people will be looking the most. It’s also one of the most detailed parts of your body, and will begin to show signs of age first. If you want to look young then you have to keep your face looking young as well. Even if you dye your hair out (if it’s starting to turn grey) you won’t look young if you have baggy circles under your eyes and age spots. With that in mind, here are a few simple natural remediess that any woman can use to take care of her face and stay looking young as long as possible.
Eat Lots of Fruit
Fruit, you may ask? Yes, fruit, I say. Fruit is packed with antioxidants such as Vitamin A and Vitamin B. These two nutrients help to improve the collagen levels in your skin, give your skin a healthy glow, and can even improve the elasticity of your skin! Berries, and especially tropical berries, will have the most antioxidants, but almost all fruits have them. Getting a lot of antioxidants won’t make you look young overnight, but it will definitely slow the signs of aging. If you have enough fruit and often enough, you might even see some signs of aging begin to vanish.
Use a Weekly Mask
A weekly mask is a great idea if you want to keep your skin looking fresh. A mask can consist of anything from clay to oatmeal and honey, or anything in between, and should usually be left on for about 20-30 minutes. No matter what is in it, your mask will leach poisons that cause acne, will improve the elasticity of your skin, and will moisturize your skin so that you look healthy and young!
Apply Lotion Daily
Applying lotion every day after you get out of the shower is a great way to keep your entire body looking young. Your pores are open after you shower, meaning that your skin will absorb the lotion more efficiently. Try rubbing a small amount over your face and over any other parts of your body you would like to keep looking young, and then repeat the process every day. If you don’t want to apply chemical lotions, many people use coconut oil or even yogurt and then rinse off again a few minutes later.
Get Enough Sleep
Getting regular sleep becomes even more important as you start to age. For example, most women over forty should get a minimum of 8-9 hours of sleep a night. While you might have been able to get away with 6 hours when you were a teenager, your body is changing. As we grow older, we need more sleep. If we don’t get enough sleep, the skin around our eyes will discolour and sag and can add years to your appearance. Just getting enough regular sleep and applying a little lotion under your eyes can make you look rejuvenated, beautiful and young!
Light Therapy
If you0e skin needs a bit of a quick pick me up, you can always try going for light therapy. Light therapy is a process that helps to cover blemishes, spots, wrinkles and even scars in just a couple of treatments. If any marks or wrinkles are preventing you from looking your best, you can easily and affordably do something about them!
The most important thing about keeping your face looking young is that you have to take care of your skin. Wear SPF on sunny days (even if you’re just in the car) and always remember to put on lotion!
