If you look around the Internet you will find all kinds of recipes for DIY weed killers that don’t contain any hideous chemicals. The problem is that nobody ever provides any feedback on any of these concoctions so we don’t truly know if they’re any good. BlissPlan to the rescue! We made one and will test it and let you know how it works.
Here’s our recipe:
1 quart white vinegar
1/4 cup salt
2 teaspoons liquid dish detergent – we have Ajax so that’s what I used
It’s obvious that we need to be careful with this recipe because salt it deadly to the ground. If I get it on the grass it may not grow back any time soon. The Romans used to salt fields to destroy the society of their enemies who then couldn’t produce any food.
The good part about this, though, is that we WILL provide some feedback in a week or two and let you know how well this worked. Or not. So stay tuned for a report.
