I like to have my windows open, but it’s been really, REALLY cold this fall and winter in Atlanta. So with the closed windows and frequent air from the heating vents, it can get a but stuffy in the house. I passionately love Apple Jack and Peel although it’s more of a ‘Christmasy’ scent to most people. So here are some really fascinating and easy way to add a lovely fragrance and even have some fun.
DIY Terra Cotta Room Fresheners
These great DIY clay babies are simple to make and look absolutely smashing. Be sure to have cuts in your clay because that’s how the essential oils are absorbed.

Homemade Rice Air Freshener Diffuser
This couldn’t be easier … simply take approximately 1/2 cup of rice and add essential oils. I tried this one and the delicate pine flavor lasted for day. One thing, though – I agree with the blogger who likes the looks of the black rice better. I do, too, but don’t have any. However, it’s on my shopping list for my next trip to the grocery.

Pine Scented Vinegar
I’m sure you already know that vinegar has about 89 billion uses? So, why not scent your vinegar – especially when it’s so simple and costs nothing extra? I especially like this one since I love pine, cedar and other woodsy smells so much.

Essential Oil “Stones”
I absolutely adore the way these not-really-stones look. But I have to be honest and tell you that I tried them twice and both of my efforts were a disaster. I don’t know why they failed, but perhaps you will have better luck than I did.
