If I'm anything, it's a DIY'er. I love it, I can't get enough of it, and nothing makes me happier than finding a solid natural alternative to some of the everyday products we rely on the most.
From creating my own moisturizer to my own lip gloss, first aid solutions to household supplies, there is nothing quite like adding a little green to my daily routine.
Recently I've started trying to ease my dependency on store-bought deodorant. The aluminum content alone made me want to make the switch, but first, I had to find to a suitable natural deo capable of masking any B.O. I'm attempting a catchy rhyme…did it work?
I digress.
Luckily, I not only discovered a natural DIY deodorant that works but it actually works better than any store-bought deodorant I've ever used! Seriously.
And what's even better is the recipe is incredibly easy! So easy in fact, you have no excuse not to try it out.
A Simple Natural Deodorant Recipe
All you need to make this natural DIY deodorant is:
* 1/4 cup of baking soda
* 1/4 cup of arrowroot or cornstarch (depending on your preferences)
* 6 tablespoons of coconut oil
* Your favorite essential oil
Once you have all your ingredients gathered up and ready to go, start by mixing your baking soda and arrowroot (or cornstarch) in a bowl.
Following that, begin to stir in your coconut oil, using a fork to mash it and stir it all up until it is well combined.
Finish it off by adding a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Personally, my favourite scents are vanilla, rose, lavender, coconut, or even jasmine. These oils are light enough to provide you with a noticeable scent, but are not overbearing or headache inducing.
When you have your mixture completed, scoop it out into a clean, dry glass jar for easy access.
Now the only thing left to do is slather it on, go about your daily routine and enjoy your new natural, chemical-free DIY deodorant.
It's a simple and affordable way to cut out any cancer-causing ingredients such as aluminum, while still smelling fresh, sweating less, and feeling comfortable all day long.
