I just might have COPD lung disease. COPD stands For Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and I have most of the symptoms of COPD. My primary symptoms are two:
1. A lot of coughing – especially when I’m around my cats.
2. Breathlessness or shortness of breath. This symptom is odd because sometimes I’m fine – and other times I can walk up the stairs in my home and be so out of breath that I have to sit down.
COPD causes are usually smoking, smoking and more smoking. The cause of whatever I have is mysterious. I’ve never smoked – except for a few cigarettes that I sneaked when I was a teenager. :-) I grew up in a household where both of my parents smoked – and they died of this foul habit. But that was decades ago. My brother smoked for about 25 years but he quit and his lungs are fine.
Why I’m NOT Going To A Doctor
I’m not going to a doctor about my breathing problem. If I do go they’ll do a bunch of tests and tell me one of two things:
If I’m told that I DO have COPD, they will tell me there is no cure. The so-called "treatment" for COPD is inhalers and steroids. There is zero chance of me using either of those so-called remedies is zero so there is no remedy they can offer me.
If I’m told that I DON’T have COPD, nothing will be solved. I still have my symptoms and I have to find a cure for them.
So it’s up to ME to find a cure for my lung problems. It’s my body and I alone am responsible for its well being. I will find my own treatment for COPD, if that is what I have. When I broke my wrist three years ago, I went to a doctor for a cast and some pain killer. Our medical system excels at trauma medicine. But they have no answers for my breathing problems and I know one thing for sure: taking drugs will make my breathing worse!!! So stay tuned for developments …
