Why Homemade Organic Baby Food Is A Marvelous Idea!

Written by Sydney Johnston Leave a Comment

If you have a baby and you’re reading this, I already know that you want the best for your little one. And homemade organic food is definitely the best way to raise any child. I wish I had known about this when I had small children, but I didn’t. Sigh. And yes, it’s more trouble than buying it in the grocery, but I hope to persuade you that it’s worth the extra effort.

Organic baby food products have been in the industry for a while. Though you can buy various organic baby food products on the shelves of popular groceries, you can also make your own natural baby food at home.

Organic baby food recipes are not only easy to make; they are also inexpensive and very healthy for toddlers. As a matter of fact, with a food grinder, you can give your baby the best organic baby foods available.

By making homemade organic food for your baby, you are ensured with your child’s health and safety. It is the best alternative for pre-packaged foods, especially for toddlers who are transitioning from baby milk or baby formula to solid foods.

What You Need To Know

💗 Buy only fresh produce.

By buying fresh food, you are ensured with the best quality and the healthiest homemade food for your baby. If you find it hard finding fresh produce, a good alternative is frozen food because it is less processed than canned food.

💗 Make use of a hand turned food mill or food grinder.

Though these gadgets are used manually, they can work like a food processor. What makes them ideal is the fact that they are portable. Most of them even come with changeable blades. This way, you can make food of different sizes and textures. The beauties like the food grinder on the left, which has a five star rating, can create some choice meals.

💗 Wash your food thoroughly rather than just ‘rinsing’ it.

Whether it’s the fresh produce or the hand turned mill, you need to wash them thoroughly to get rid of harmful substances. Soaking foods in vinegar and/or baking soda will remove all kinds of pesticides and germs than plain water will not.

Remember This …

✼ Since natural fruits and vegetables already have enough natural sugar, you don’t need to sweeten them anymore. Using corn and honey syrups can be dangerous to your baby’s health.
✼ Adding a little flavor to your baby’s food can do wonders for your baby’s appetite. However, only use a small amount of seasoning.
✼ If you need to warm the food in the microwave, make sure it is not too hot for your baby. Always test the food before handing it over to him. You may need to stir it well.
✼ When your baby has finished his meal, throw it away. Don’t even think of serving it to him again later. When organic baby food is mixed with baby saliva, it breeds bacteria.
✼ If you want to store organic food for your baby, you can place it in the fridge and it can last for a few days.

Organic baby food is definitely the best choice to give to your little one. With proper preparation, handling and storage, these foods are very healthy and nutritious.
