Organic SkinCare: The Perfect Recipe For Organic Beauty

Written by Sydney Johnston 6 Comments

skin25We’re all interested in organic beauty if it isn’t too much trouble or doesn’t cost too much. And when it comes to beauty, nothing is more important than your face so organic skincare absolutely must be a priority. Why? Because your face is a ‘two way’ street and not a barrier at all. Everything you put on your face ends up in your body. No one knows exactly, but research suggests that 50-70% of our face products end up roaming through our body. So, what good is it to be gorgeous – and sick or even dead?

Lots of people scoff at the idea of skin care products being dangerous because after all we just use small amounts of our creams and lotions. That would be true except for the fact that we all live in a literal sea of chemicals. Estimates range up to 500 chemicals per day – unless you’re one of the fortunate few who lives an organic country existence {lucky you!}

Fortunately, more and more folks are aware of these dangers and there is an increasing consumer insistence on organic beauty products. Since we live in a chemical environment, it’s obvious that the more chemicals we ingest, the more serious the consequences can be.

A perfect example is the person with facial allergies. That person’s body and skin has revolted against the constant chemicals and fights back with inflammation and rash. Usually, when the sufferer changes to organic skin care products, the allergies fade away. If that is you, your skin is dancing a jig because you are no longer subjecting it to products with chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides and all the other horrors of modern life.

If you consider using organic skin care products {and I sincerely hope you will} you should know the law about the products you choose:

Made with organic ingredients: only requires 70% organic
Organic face cream: requires 90% organic
Natural: is totally meaningless because there are no legal requirements whatsoever

The ideal solution, of course, is to make your own organic skin care products because you will know exactly what’s in them, they will perfectly suit your skin – and you will save piles and heaps of money!

    I’m really glad I read this post because obviously I’m being fooled. I’ve been ‘green’, I thought – by buying only natural skin care products, but they might be really terrible. Ack!

    I’ve fallen for that trick in the past. Now I know better. You can’t trust even the most expensive cosmetics & skincare products. You really have to read labels.

    Organic products or the so called and sold ones may not be 100% organic, but at least they are better than the pure chemical ones. Something is better than nothing.

      You are so right! We MUST do our due diligence if we want truly organic, but looking for organic is always wise.

      But your experience doesn’t mean that ALL organic shampoos make our hair drier.
