Abraham Hicks refers to Esther Hicks and her teachings from the entity known as Abraham. Esther is a famous teacher who has impacted the lives of tens of thousands of people – including mine. In fact, this writing is about a way she has changed my life by making it so much easier. When I discovered the Abraham Hicks ‘Emotional Guidance System‘ I felt an incredible relief because everything became so much easier.
Abraham Hicks offers a delicious collection of books and audio programs including Money, and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Wealth, Health, and Happiness, The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent: Living the Art of Allowing and, my personal favorite, Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires. Esther Hicks also conducts live seminars around the country and it has been my privilege to hear her ‘live’ on two occasions.
The Abraham Hicks Version of the Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction is a Law, not a law. By that we mean that it’s a Law because it’s the way things work, rather than a law = a rule made up by human beings. Gravity is a Law because no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to escape planet Earth – only a machine with an ‘ginormous’ amount of power can do that. It’s a Law that sooner or later you will have to go to sleep. It’s a Law that without our sun we will not survive.
In the same way, the Law of Attraction has a capital “L” and every teacher explains it in a different way or uses a different formula. Nevertheless, the principles are always the same. So here is the Abraham Hicks formula for manifesting change.
“The Creative Process is conceptually a simple one. It consists of just three steps:
* Step 1 (your work): You ask.
* Step 2 (not your work): The answer is given.
* Step 3 (your work): The answer, which has been given, must be received or allowed (you have to let it in).”

In the Abraham Hicks version of the Law of Attraction “asking” doesn’t mean begging or pleading. It means becoming clear on what you want and then paying attention to it. This is just like Napoleon Hill and Think and Grow Rich as he learned from Andrew Carnagie. If you don’t know what you want, you’ll get … whatever.
The answer comes from the subconscious mind or Superconscious mind, depending on how you want to define the larger power that we’ve discussed in earlier articles.

And, lastly, we must “allow”. As so elegantly quoted by Robert Collier: “shut the door on every suggestion of fear or worry or failure.”
And this is where Abraham Hicks has been so incredibly valuable to me.
The Incredibly Valuable Abraham Hicks Contribution to the Law of Attraction
All books and media programs on creating change in your life by using the Law of Attraction realize that negative thoughts destroy our every attempt to improve our lives. When referring to money woes, for instance:
“Fear of poverty is a negative, destructive state of mind. Moreover, one negative state of mind has a tendency to attract other similar states of mind. For example, the fear of poverty may attract the fear of ill health, and these two may attract the fear of old age, so that the victim finds themself (sic) poverty-stricken, in ill health , and actually growing old long before the time they should begin to show signs of old age.” [The Secret Law of Attraction as Explained by Napoleon Hill, page 89]
So how do we combat these negative thoughts and states? All authors say by “controlling” our thoughts, by “watching” our thoughts, so that we alert to any negativity.
I can emphatically state from personal experience that THIS IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! Thoughts continually wander through the corridors of our minds and controlling them is a task that is exhausting and futile, leading to despair of success and the tendency to give up.
Abraham Hicks offers a unique and much better way – the Emotional Guidance System. Quite simply, we notice when we are starting to feel bad, to be down, depressed, discouraged, hopeless. This is infinitely easier than ‘controlling our thoughts’.
When we start feeling emotionally negative, all we need to do is look for reasons to feel good.
“Today, I will look for reasons to feel good. Nothing is more important than that I feel good. Nothing is more important than that I choose thoughts that attract other thoughts that attract other thoughts that raise my vibrational frequency to the place where I can resonate with the positive aspect of the Universe.” [Ask And It Is Given, page 37]
And there is always a reason to feel good! Right now I am glancing out of my window and it is a gorgeous day. My window is open and a cool breeze is blowing through my office, I can hear birds singing and my family is safe and well. Aren’t those reasons enough to feel happiness?
The Law of Attraction states that the Universe responds to the predominant vibration of our thoughts. If we are mostly negative, we will receive more reasons to be negative because our subconscious mind will say, “OK, the Boss wants to feel bad, apparently, so let’s give her some misery.”
If you wake up every morning and your #1 goal for the day is to look for reasons to feel good, you just might be astonished at how quickly your life will change! Thank you Abraham Hicks.

I have read through this article and got an idea about Piece of Law of Attraction which is known as Abraham Hicks Emotional Guidance System. I know various piece of laws but this is really unique concept than laws. So that I am gonna apply for my life this idea.

This is a great and true way to think. I guide myself partially by producing positive emotions and I feel like people have responded to it and respond to me better in daily life. These are simple ideas that Hicks was just smart enough to express. I use these ideas to empower myself every day. Oprah said you teach people how to treat you and Hicks is on the same wavelength.

Wow, this is really interesting. It really is amazing how our mind can have so much control over things like this. I have often suffered with a negative thinking process, and now I realise how much damage it could be doing. IF they’re right – and I’m sure they are – then negative thinking only creates more negative conditions. I know exactly what you mean, though. It’s easy to get depressed, worried, etc. Just watch the news every night if you want to get down in the dumps.

This basically explains that no matter what we do we have a question an the only way we get the answer is if we ask. But in order to actually use the answer we have to be able to take it in ourselves. I read something like this about 4 months ago and I was a non-believer until a week later I was driving in a neighborhood that has curvy streets. I kept thinking, “I’m going to get hit by a car” and sure enough I went through a red light and ALMOST got hit buy a BIG truck! So now whenever I start thinking negative thoughts, I think about the accident I almost had, and I start thinking positive thoughts. The same thing goes for bad days, I used to wake up thinking I was going to have a bad day and and sure enough everything would go wrong. Now, I wake up thinking it’s going to be a wonderful day. Being a negative person not only attracts bad luck, but it also scares people away. It’s like they can feel the bad vibes. Positive thoughts and feelings attract people who feel the same way.

Right you are! If you believe that we create our own reality – and I do – then fear is the #1 destroyer of lives. Nothing is more damaging than fear and almost all negativity has fear as the core of the feeling.
