If you simply CANNOT LOSE WEIGHT, you will already know that year after year we are inundated, swamped and buried in the ‘latest and greatest’ diet books. The authors (often doctors) earnestly assure us the THEIR book will resolve our weight problems, once and for all. And perhaps they could – if we actually followed the diet plan! The truth is that although we may start a new diet the majority of us fail to stick with it long enough for it to narrow our bodies. Even less likely is that we change our lifestyle in order to keep our weight down.
But of course you already know this. What does this mean? It implies that the issue isn’t about what we eat. The amount you devour is only a symptom. The real problem resides in our minds, not on our forks. Unless or until we change what’s inside our heads, our weight problems will continue. Bottom line: we need to look elsewhere for answers, folks. Your weight loss is dependent on changing your mind, pure and simple.
Lose Weight Naturally With The Body Image Mastery Program
If you want to lose your weight once and for all, the Body Image Mastery and the OnePinky Community is a slimming program like none I have seen before. You’ll find no suggestions of what to eat, no rigid physical exercise program to follow. You do not have to strictly limit your foods for the first seven days or two weeks. In fact you do not have to strictly restrict anything. Body Image Mastery does not concentrate on varying your diet or physical workouts. It focuses on changing the factors why: reasons why you overeat.
BIM was created by Laura Fenamore and endorsed by Jack Canfield and John Gray, which impressed me. Like you and me, she struggled with her weight, going on diet after diet, always to regain the lost pounds. Even when she became skinny, she found that she wasn’t really happy. There was something deeper that was causing her problems. Fortunately, she listened to that smals voice within: she fixed her inner problems, and her outer weight problems then resolved themselves.
The Body Image Mastery program has 12 workbooks. You can either do one workbook per week or one each month. It’s an identical workbook, the only difference is the speed at which you work. You might think that a month is too long to spend on one concept in a workbook, but it’s heavy stuff – you’ll be looking deep within yourself, possibly uncovering traumatic memories that you didn’t even know you have.
The topics of the 12 workbooks are:
1. How To Accept Responsibility For Your Body And Choose PERMANENT Change
2. How To Feel Safe And Allow Change From The Inside Flowing Outward
3. How To Completely Shift Your Relationship With Food So That It Can Become The Fuel To Propel You To Your New Body
4. How To Release Your Victim Story So That It Never Brings You Back To An Overweight And Unhappy Body Again
5. Eliminating That Sneaky Discouraging Voice From Within–Negative Self-Talk
6. How Forgiveness Can Be The Seemingly Magical Ingredient That Transports You From Where Your Body Is To Where You Want Your Body To Be
7. Loving Yourself Into The Body Of Your Dreams
8. The Key To Receiving Your New Body So That It Stays With You For The Rest Of Your Life
9. Allowing Food To Be Your Fuel…Not Your Fault
10. Celebrating Your Movement and Form
11. The Importance of Feeling Worthy And How To Start Now
12. Operation Celebrate You
This is an extensive course, not only a short ebook. Each workbook in the series is more than 20 pages. It would be impossible to give a full rundown of the whole course in the space I have hear, but let me increase the size a bit upon the first book.
It starts with a bit of discussion about the terminology employed in the book. For kids, Ms. Fenamore will talk a lot through the course about your "story". This is the story you (consciously or subconsciously) tell about your system or your body image. She’ll also introduce you to Miss Sparkle Fairy, which is a cute graphic that encourages you to lighten up.
Laura then looks at how we often see our bodies and what’s wrong with the way that we look at them. Naturally, everyone’s body image is different, but if you have to lose weight, there are in all likelihood many things that you hate about your poor beleagured body.
At the same time, you may be subconsciously sabotaging your weight loss because that layer of fat protects you in a few ways. For example, if you were hurt in a relationship, you might be keeping your fat as a method to keep yourself unattractive so that no one will every love you (and leave) again. Yeah, it’s crazy, but we all do nutty stuff like this.
Writer Jaime Mintun also provides input throughout the series. Her entries are a personal diary of her experiences when going through the Body Image Mastery course. . You’ll see her writing in each of the workbooks.
You then go through the meat of each workbook. We will learn about:
Change and what’s involved …
Getting ready for change …
Being willing to start from wherever you are right now, without worrying about how long the journey will take …
Ms. Fenamore leads you through a series of question to aid you better understand yourself. Essentially, she’s trying to get you to figure out what you are telling yourself about your system.
Author Shannon Tani describes her experience with Body Image Mastery this way:
To give you an example from my personal life, my weight has fluctuated over the years. When I was at my heaviest (more than 220 pounds), I actually had a pretty good body image. I’d look in the mirror and think, "Hey, I look pretty good."
After being diagnosed with PCOS, I started to take steps to get my weight more under control. I gradually changed my eating habits and started exercising. Years later, I weighed 145. I was incredibly skinny compared to my old weight. Yet, every time I looked in the mirror, I’d say "Look at how fat you are." I was no longer comfortable in my body.
Realizing that I would say that to myself is a big part of starting the healing process. It makes it a lot easier to catch myself and try to turn it into a more positive outlook.
It’s discoveries like this that you’ll learn in the Body Image Mastery Course.
The process in the workbooks is intense and if you genuinely want it to be employed for you, then you have to work the program. You have involved yourself with the process, rather than just skim over the queries and expect to be healed. You must really think through your dreams and fears. This can, of course, can be rather hard for many people. But then again, being fat is pretty darned hard, too!
If you want to participate in the Body Image Mastery course, you also get access to the OnePinky.com community. This is a set of forums that allow you to interact with others on the identical path of transformation and even talk to Laura herself. Laura also holds weekly conference calls when participants can ask questions.
The Body Image Mastery course is not for everybody. It’s a bit more costly than a number of products available and it does not supply the kind of quick fix that many people are searching for. What it will do though, is help you to change the way that you think about yourself – which will result in an effortless slimming.
